The Zambian side has the famous Boiling Pot and the spectacular Knife-Edge Bridge walk. The Zimbabwean side has the wider panoramic view of the full falls.
  • South Luangwa National Park is Africa's original walking safari destination — Norman Carr invented it here in the 1950s. Walking with an armed guide alongside elephants, lions, and hippos is unique to Luangwa. Remote and expensive but extraordinary. Best Oct–Dec (dry season, animals concentrated at the Luangwa River).
  • Lower Zambezi National Park offers canoe safaris on the Zambezi River — paddling silently past hippos, crocodiles, and elephants drinking. No crowds, superb camps. Combine with a Victoria Falls stop for the ultimate Zambia trip.

  1. Get yellow fever vaccination

    NAFDAC-approved centre in Lagos or Abuja. Yellow card at least 10 days old. Zambia checks it strictly.

  2. Decide: single entry or KAZA Univisa

    If visiting only Zambia (Lusaka or Livingstone): single entry USD 50. If crossing to Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls): KAZA Univisa USD 50 covers both countries. Both paid on arrival.

  3. Fly Lagos to Lusaka or Livingstone

    Ethiopian Airlines: Lagos (LOS) → Addis (ADD) → Lusaka (LUN). Or via Johannesburg (JNB) then Proflight Zambia or Fastjet to Livingstone (LVI). Total: ~10–14 hours.

  4. Pay VOA at arrival and explore

    Victoria Falls, South Luangwa NP (walking safaris), Lower Zambezi NP (canoeing alongside elephants), Kafue NP (wild dogs). Zambia is Africa's finest wilderness safari destination.

The visa-on-arrival facility at Zambian ports is not open to Nigerian passport holders, who must apply through the Zambia eVisa portal before travelling. This applies to the KAZA UniVisa as well, which is available online only for arrivals at Kenneth Kaunda, Harry Mwanga Nkumbula, Victoria Falls and Kazungula.
