Mauritius: temporary entry ban on foreign nationals recently in Uganda
The Passport and Immigration Office's travel advisory of 24 August 2026 temporarily prohibits entry by foreign nationals who were in, or transited through, the DR Congo, Uganda or South Sudan in the previous 21 days. No lifting had been posted by 23 October 2026.
Mauritius added a mandatory Health Declaration Form before boarding
Under the Quarantine (Health Declaration Form) Regulations 2026, gazetted on 6 June 2026, the Passport and Immigration Office states that all passengers must complete the All-in-One Travel Form and the Health Declaration Form before boarding any aircraft or vessel bound for Mauritius. Both are mandatory and are checked at the point of embarkation.
Mauritius requires an All-in-One travel form before arrival
Every foreign traveller must complete the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Digital Form within 72 hours before arrival, consolidating immigration, customs and health declarations. It is free through the government portal and applies regardless of visa status — being visa-free does not mean there is nothing to arrange. Health officials check the printed form or QR code on landing.
Mauritius enforces a funds test at the border, not a visa
There is no visa to arrange, but Mauritius applies its entry conditions at the counter and the officer sets the length of stay. Officials look for roughly USD 100 per day, about MUR 4,500, alongside a confirmed onward ticket and accommodation. The yellow fever certificate is mandatory from Uganda.
