Namibia is spectacular for Ghanaian adventurers — Sossusvlei's towering orange dunes, Etosha's wildlife, and the Skeleton Coast's wild Atlantic beaches. Visa at Namibia HC Accra (~GHS 920). YF mandatory. Fly via Johannesburg.

Key Warnings

  • Yellow fever mandatory from Ghana.
  • Confirm Namibia HC Accra is processing applications before visiting.
  • Self-drive requires a 4WD for gravel roads — book in advance as 4WDs sell out in peak season (July–October).

Insider Tips

  • The Sossusvlei sunrise (Namib-Naukluft Park) is one of Africa's iconic landscapes — arrive at the dunes by 6:00 AM. Camp inside the park (Sesriem Camp) for cheapest access; book 6+ months ahead for July–September.
  • Etosha National Park (northern Namibia) is superb for self-drive safari — Namibia Wildlife Resorts camps inside the park are affordable and excellent. The Okaukuejo floodlit waterhole is unforgettable at night.
  • Namibia is generally very safe for tourists — violent crime is low compared to other Southern African countries. Petty theft exists in Windhoek's city centre but parks and lodges are secure.
